U.S. Bancorp is an American financial services holding company based in Minneapolis, Minnesota that is the parent company of the U.S. Bank National Association, known as U.S. Bank, the fifth largest commercial bank in the United States. The company, founded in 1929, has $422 billion in assets and operates 3,133 banking offices in 25 states and 4,936 ATMS and provides banking, investment, mortgage, trust, and payment services products to individuals, businesses, governmental entities, and other financial institutions.

Statement of Diversity

U.S. Bank is interested in participating in the initiative to bring back ideas to the organization– how they can further their own commitment to diverse practices within their organization that benefits employees and customers. They have a series of initiatives underway to strengthen the business case for diversity. First, they have a companywide “”unconscious bias”” training for all employees. Additionally, their diversity efforts are being leverage across four different pillars throughout the organization in the following ways:

1) Supplier Diversity: Where they are strengthening their relationships and spend with diverse suppliers, targeting a 5 percent expenditure growth per year.
2) Community : Where they are building differentiation for their diversity efforts aligning with Community Possible giving platform to create greater pathways to education and jobs in minority communities.
3) Workplace: Where their singular focus is to create a more diverse total workforce by increasing hires and reducing turnover for women and people of color.
4) Marketplace: Where they are leveraging opportunities to build trust and acquire multicultural customers through a series culturally relevant marketing efforts.
